RAM: Tracing Successful Steps

JOHN MCILVEEN, Jacob Securities, Inc. (12/22/2010)

"Ram announced results of a successful well result at the No. 2 well located at their Orita site in Imperial Valley California. . .Ram is tracing the steps of a successful drill program in the 1980's by the prior owners. The next well will also parallel a successful legacy well. The Orita drilling program is initially focused on 50MW. Two subsequent Phases of 50 MW each are permitted and have PPAs. In addition, the New River and Keystone projects, both also located in the Imperial Valley, have the potential of an additional 100MW and discussions with local utilities on PPAs are ongoing. The Imperial Valley in Southern California is potentially the largest geothermal resource in the United States. The first geothermal wells in Imperial Valley were drilled in 1957 and the first power plants constructed in 1979. Current production is ~600MW. Total potential capacity is estimated to be in the 10,000MW range according to the Renewable Energy Transmission Initiative Commission. We believe this news should remove the overhang the market has put on the stock. . .We reiterate our Speculative Buy rating."
