TGL: A Good Year, But 2010 Looking Better

J. FREDERICK KOZAK, Canaccord Genuity (03/12/2010)
"On March 11, TransGlobe Energy released its 2009 full-year financial and operational results. The company performed as expected, but results early in 2010 point to a prospective year of growth potential.

The results for 2009 were in line with expectations as the company was very good at keeping the market up to date on operations. So far in 2010, positive results from the first fracture stimulation on the Arta Field in Egypt potentially set up additional recompletion candidates and the first exploration success in the Western Desert also provides a potential new development project.

. . .Like clockwork, TransGlobe has again provided shareholders with year-over-year production growth. Average production in 2009 grew 29% over 2008, slightly less than the 10-year compound annual growth rate of 52%, but material considering the company's capital expenditures in 2009 were 30% less in 2009 than in 2008."
