The New York Times is catching some ire from energy writers about a series of 2014 articles that appear, the writers say, were blatantly biased against the oil and gas industry, and fracking in particular. The series, called "The Downside of the Boom," reported on negatives of the Bakken oil boom. Citing that spills were up, state regulators were turning their heads, and portrayed the oil industry running amok, without restraint. The Times mostly quoted anti-fracking activists and political opponents of current North Dakota elected officials. (2/18/15)
