Expert Analysis
Morning Coffee (1/13/12) "Shares of Quest Rare Minerals Ltd. were on the move Thursday after the company reported assay results from the 2011 definition diamond drilling program completed on its Strange Lake B-Zone Rare Earth Element deposit in northeastern Quebec; management highlighted that Heavy Rare Earth Oxides represented 22.4-76.5% of the TREO content intersected in the new drilling. Best intersection grades returned included: 1.44% TREO over 144.4m; 1.23% TREO over 116.1m; and 1.18% TREO over 95.9m, including 1.48% TREO over 45.6m and 3.29% TREO over 9.9m; Quest also noted that important enrichment in zirconium, niobium and hafnium continues to characterize mineralization."
The Gold Report Interview with Alain-Jean Beauregard (12/23/11) "Our involvement with rare earth minerals is with Quest Rare Minerals Ltd. on the Strange Lake deposit. The project is located at the Labrador border between Newfoundland and Quebec, approximately 150 km NNW of the town of Schefferville. It was discovered by Iron Ore Company of Canada in the 1970s. Quest Rare Minerals was able to drill anomalous till and soil geochemistry anomalies, which correspond with TREO-rich peralkaline intrusions." More >
The Critical Metals Report Interview with Anthony Alfidi (12/20/11) "I've looked at Quest Rare Minerals Ltd. and actually had a blog post about them a couple of weeks ago. The deposit at Strange Lake looks like it has some really high-quality ore. . .Quest has a plan to build a 75-mile road through the Québec wilderness to Voisey Bay."
The Critical Metals Report Interview with Anthony Young (11/29/11) "Quest is an interesting name. When I initially started looking at REE companies a year and a half ago, Quest wasn't as far along as Avalon, so I rated it a Hold. Its chief executive, Peter Cashin, has been very aggressive in his development of Quest's project and there is recognition in the industry that it has made good progress. People like to play Quest against Avalon as if it's some sort of competition. It isn't. If you're looking for exposure to HREEs, Avalon and Quest would be the go-to names. Investors don't have to buy one or the other. They can buy both and have good odds of one or the other succeeding and making some outsize returns, possibly in both equities."

"The fifth-ranked deposit by quantity of neodymium would be Strange Lake, owned by Quest Rare Minerals Ltd. . .Quest has a really nice deposit up there; a number of knowledgeable geologists walked us through the details on our visit. Quest also has a very professional organization and is well resourced. The challenge of course, is that Strange Lake is tucked away in a part of Canada that would require significant new infrastructure, to be able to properly service it and to get materials in and out.
When we were there, the company was just finishing up exploration and was starting the process of "handing over the reins" to the engineering people. Quest is now finishing up its prefeasibility study. The company has also recently added a director to its board with mining project experience. Quest is looking to expand and looking to put the right people in place to make this project a reality."
