Purecore Metals Inc. (PURE:CSE; PPURF:OTCQB) has launched a detailed data compilation and technical review of its Yurchison uranium property in northern Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin, according to a September 15 release.
The company can earn up to a 100% interest in Yurchison under its definitive option agreement with Skyharbour Resources Ltd. (SYH:TSX.V; SYHBF:OTCQX; SC1P:FSE). The property covers 22 claims totaling approximately 35,029 hectares and lies about 75 kilometers south of Cameco Corp.'s (CCO:TSX; CCJ:NYSE) Rabbit Lake operation.
The program will bring historical and recent geological, geochemical, geophysical, and exploration information into a consolidated project database and geological model. Purecore said it plans to use the integrated data to sharpen areas of interest, identify locations supported by multiple lines of evidence, and establish priorities for future fieldwork.
"Yurchison has decades of exploration history and a significant volume of modern geophysical data," Purecore President and Chief Executive Officer Peter Berdusco said. "This program brings that information together into an integrated geological framework to refine our understanding of the property and prioritize areas for future exploration."
The review will digitize available historical geological, geochemical, geophysical, and drilling records; combine and interpret older and newer airborne geophysical surveys; assess past uranium occurrences, prospecting results, and exploration targets; examine geological and structural features that could control uranium mineralization; compare conductors, structures, geochemical anomalies, and previous exploration results; and rank areas for potential follow-up work.
Previous exploration includes a 1,424-line-kilometer high-resolution airborne magnetic survey flown at 50-meter line spacing, along with earlier VTEM work that outlined multiple geophysical targets. Additional airborne magnetic, radiometric, and VLF-EM surveys have also covered the property. Historical work identified uranium mineralization in several areas, including prospecting near old trenches that returned grades ranging from 0.09% to 0.30% U3O8. Purecore will incorporate those results into its broader technical assessment.
Yurchison sits within the Wollaston Domain and is underlain by Wollaston Supergroup metasedimentary gneisses, including graphitic units near Archean granitic gneisses. Highway 905 provides access through the property area. Most exploration occurred before 2000, leaving substantial portions with limited modern follow-up. Purecore intends to use the current compilation and interpretation work to establish a stronger technical base for planning the next phase of exploration.
Analysts Weigh in on Skyharbour
Ventum Financial gave Skyharbour a Buy rating and CA$0.75 price target in a September 8 uranium sector update, naming it and Denison Mines Corp. (DML:TSX; DNN:NYSE.MKT) as ways to play what analyst Surya Sankarasubramanian called a "transformed uranium thematic."
The report argues that the uranium trade has shifted. Over the past five years, the monthly average spot U3O8 price rose 171%, to US$88/lb, yet most uranium equities lagged that gain, and the exchange-traded funds many investors rely on underperformed the metal itself. With spot near US$88/lb and long-term prices around US$96/lb, Ventum expects more modest commodity gains ahead, pegging its long-term price at US$110/lb from 2031, and it says company-specific factors, especially exploration success, will drive returns from here. Stock selection, the analyst wrote, now matters more than simple leverage to the price.
Sankarasubramanian wrote that "Skyharbour is the pre-eminent uranium exploration and prospect generator company in the Athabasca Basin," noting that partners have committed up to about CA$79 million in partner funded exploration and expects to receive over CA$52 million in cash and share payments coming into Skyharbour, assuming that these partner companies complete the earn-ins at their respective projects. This model lets Skyharbour keep broad exposure to exploration upside with little corporate-level dilution. The company is also drilling its Russell Lake joint ventures with strategic partner Denison Mines and also drilling its 100%-owned Moore Lake project.
That model, which underpins its partnership with Purecore, combined with its active exploration programs, makes it "a strong contender for future positive returns," he said.
Haywood Securities analyst Marcus Giannini began coverage on May 28 with a Buy rating and a CA$1-per-share target. He described Skyharbour as a uranium explorer focused on unconformity-style discoveries in the Athabasca Basin, with Moore Lake and Russell Lake serving as its two flagship projects.
"With the partnership at Russell established, a proven project in Moore, and exposure to significant exploration drilling through joint venture projects, we think the timing is right for Skyharbour to take the next step in its exploration journey," Giannini said. He added, "We like Skyharbour for the exposure it provides in terms of blue-sky exploration upside in a proven uranium district, while maintaining a lower risk profile relative to pure play exploration peers through its prospect generator business with minimized dilution through a partnership model."
On July 23, 2026, Jeff Clark and Daniel Flynn of The Paydirt Prospector reviewed Skyharbour's progress. Flynn said the publication assigned a "Hold" in its summer portfolio review, largely because Moore Lake had generated limited updates since drilling began. However, he cited several potential catalysts ahead, including results from Skyharbour's expanded 2026 drilling campaign, which The Paydirt Prospector described as roughly twice the size of last year's program. Flynn said assays from Moore Lake and other portfolio projects could provide additional value, while Clark continues to maintain an overweight position.
The Catalyst: A Structural Uranium Deficit Meets the AI Boom
The nuclear-power backdrop underpinning uranium demand keeps strengthening. In its World Nuclear Outlook Report 2026, published September 9, the World Nuclear Association projected global operable nuclear capacity could reach 1,457 GWe by 2050 in its high case, and noted that nuclear generation set a record of 2,702 TWh in 2025. The association frames that growth as structural, driven by governments pursuing energy security and low-carbon baseload power.
The demand story is increasingly tied to artificial intelligence. In an August 25 report, OilPrice said uranium was trading near US$89 a pound, after briefly topping US$100 in January, and attributed the strength to a structural supply deficit as decade-long mine development timelines struggle to keep pace with reactor demand, compounded by AI and data-center electricity needs and China's rapid nuclear buildout. The report cited UBS analyst George Eadie, who said, "Continued strength in term pricing and signs of accelerating utility procurement offer further evidence that the uranium market is tightening structurally."

In a late-2025 outlook, Mining.com reported that artificial intelligence and hyperscale data centers were reshaping expectations for nuclear energy, and the demand signal it described points squarely at the years ahead. Citing a uranium.io investor survey, the outlet said more than 63% of respondents expected AI-related consumption to become a material factor in nuclear planning over the next decade, with the electricity demand increasingly viewed as structural rather than temporary.
That sentiment carried into price expectations. According to the same survey, more than 85% of respondents anticipated higher uranium prices moving into 2026, with many pointing to a US$100 to US$120 a pound range and some upside scenarios reaching US$135 a pound if supply constraints persisted.
On supply, Mining.com said a majority of those surveyed expected mined uranium to meet less than 75% of future reactor requirements, citing years of underinvestment, lengthy permitting timelines, and declining secondary supplies. It pointed to Sprott Asset Management's description of a market moving at "two speeds," with short-term volatility masking increasingly bullish long-term fundamentals, a dynamic that suggests the demand-supply gap could widen as reactor buildouts accelerate.
